A brief history of wasting time

Me, me, me. These personal web sites are so self-indulgent, so self-promotional, so.. urgh.

Anyway, about me. Note to self: sprinkle this page with self-promotional self-indulgence (i.e. finish it) asap.

Devastatingly useful statistics

Devastatingly dull prose

I'm studying for a Computer Science degree at the University of Warwick. I have a keen interest in computer programming, and spent a year before university doing it professionally. I'd rather be known as a musician, though - my justification being having played the piano for 13 years (and the guitar for 8 months, as of March 2003...)

About this site

My first web site was launched in early 1997, and sucked gratuitously, although of course I thought it was brilliant at the time. In June of that year, I founded Anti-Matter Productions with a group of friends, and on 4th August 1997 we launched a similarly sucky site on the webspace of Si's Claranet dialup account, at http://www.anti-matter.clara.net/ (now defunct). The Anti-Matter Productions site went through several revisions over the years - some good (I take full credit), some dodgy (I take full blame), and in August 2000 acquired the domain names m3fe.com and m3fe.co.uk. These were simple redirections at first, but in January 2001, we moved m3fe.com to proper hosting with 34SP.com, where it has remained since. In August 2002, I closed the Anti-Matter Productions site, which had become rather outdated and unwieldy, and replaced it with this new personal site.

For utter pointlessness/completeness/showing off*, you can get here via some or more of the following addresses:

* delete as applicable

There are also the following sites, which have some very old content kicking around:

There used to be many more offshoot sites dotted around Geocities, Tripod, Xoom, et al, but they've all gradually been deleted by said providers. The web can be so transitory :-( This is why sites like The Internet Archive simply rule.

This site is developed using TextPad and Crimson Editor, uploaded with SmartFTP and hosted at 34SP.com, where it runs on Apache, PHP and MySQL.
